The Hertz Corporation Fleet Planning Manager in Uxbridge, United Kingdom

General Responsibilities

What is the role all about?

Key objective is to provide data and analysis support for fleet planning across country planning teams, from a data, decision-support, cost and fleet-rotation plan standpoints.

The Fleet Planning Manager will oversee detailed Portfolio cost/contribution analysis on both an actual and forecast basis.

You will be working very closely with Country Fleet Planning Teams and will receive direct guidance from the European Fleet Portfolio Manager.

Strategic Objectives

  • To ensure the fleet planning process is carried out engaging all related stakeholders (S&OP, Operations, pricing etc…) and incorporated into the business plan

  • To create reporting visibility of the current and past KPIs in fleet planning across countries in Europe

  • To align with the standard planning methodologies defined at Europe Level (eg CMS)

  • To support European and Country Fleet Procurement processes, participating to negotiations to provide analytical insights for Purchasing team and operating proprietary tool (OPE) to compare offers and define strategies and counter-offers

  • To produce costs and financial analysis and ensure integrity of data used to forecast holding cost and contribution at the model level

  • To develop and overview the financial analysis related to fleet planning and develop sensitivity analysis to understand the related impact boundaries

  • To monitor plan execution against fleet planning

  • To support CMS Acquisition implementation

  • Coordinate between Hertz Pricing and Hertz Fleet on data and decision - support

Operating responsibilities:

  • Produce visual decision support analysis using structured as well as raw data at a European level involving multi-country, multi-location, multi-data-source environment

  • To supervise and direct the development of the strategic Portfolio plan (adds/deletes/operating fleet) including all sources of vehicles, in conjunction with Fleet procurement, Remarketing, and Pricing, based on analytics. – Show this using various reporting tools on a daily/weekly/monthly basis

  • To oversee analysis and ensure integrity of data across fleet systems (OPE, Ariba, CMS, Vision/Oracle…), including:

  • Forecasted Residual Values

  • Fleet Operating Costs

  • Operational Constraints

  • Program Terms and Conditions

  • Capitalized Costs

  • Trim/options

  • Evaluate alternative fleet flexibility scenarios

  • To support cross-border deals initiated at Europe level – PACE process used for Fleet Acquisitions using a tool called OPE (OEM Proposal Evaluator)

  • To ensure strategic plan incorporates net gain loss forecast

  • To assess economic and P/L implications of fleet actions

S takeholder alignment of portfolio planning:

  • To ensure strategic portfolio plan is incorporated into business planning processes and communicated throughout the Organization.

  • To ensure scenarios, analyses, and recommendations for the Portfolio are generated and communicated within the Organization.

Educational Background:

The candidate should be graduated from a business school and/or engineering school/university. Education could also be economics, supply chain, MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Professional Experience:

Full command of English, minimum 5 years’ experience in analytics in project management, fleet management, finance or logistics. Experience from the automotive sector would be appreciated. Experience from Car Rental sector will be given priority.

  • Planning & Organization: Establishes standards and takes action to monitor progress, involves effectively team and peers towards committed goals in agreed timeframe. Experience in project management will be a plus.
