What is this role all about?
The primary focus of the IT Project Manager within the Transformation Franchise Stream is in administering and managing the delivery of project tasks within the Transformation Program, whilst following the Hertz IT project delivery process.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Create analytical documents and reports, such as, but not limited to, project plans, project status reports, issue, action and risk logs.
Manage the IT Project Franchise Stream and track task execution, ensuring alignment with expected duration, completeness and cost.
When project remediation is required, work with other IT work streams to develop requirements in response to the changes requested.
Manage stakeholder expectations as to project scope, schedule and cost.
Facilitate issue resolutions between Global team members in a manner that keeps everyone productive, motivated and focused on project deliverables.
Assist with coordination of system testing, user acceptance testing, system-training and go live support activities.
Follow the established PMO framework and methodologies for managing projects.
Support the Project O.N.E. Program Directors, in ensuring standards are maintained across the portfolio on how projects are run, ensuring the tracking and remediation of audit issues related to project execution.
Participate in post-implementation activities such as lessons learned.
Acting as a single point of contact, handle all queries about your responsible area within the Transformation Franchise stream, in a professional and timely manner.
Oversee and approve technical specifications and high-level business documentation
Liaise between internal and vendor technical teams
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or another related field. Masters is a plus
Minimum 8+ years’ experience as a Project Manager within the IT function
Minimum 3+ years’ experience Project Managing software delivery/implementations within a global organisation
Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with great attention to detail
Comprehensive understanding and experience of both waterfall and agile software development approaches
Holder of a PMI qualification (PMP, PgMP) or Prince.
Proficient in English both oral and written. Additional language skills will set the candidate apart.
Proficient at developing and delivering presentations with excellent meeting management skills. Ability to manage senior stakeholder expectations.
Ability to work to deadlines and under own initiative as part of a dynamic team.
Proficient with of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project.
Availability to travel internationally up to 25%
Drive through the completion of tasks assigned to project team members through strong influencing and problem solving skills.
Provide reliable, accurate and timely information (progress reports) on tasks assigned, which can include elements of larger projects to ensure that all tasks/projects are delivered on time and to budget
Work on business-driven projects from user requirement analysis through testing and implementation so as to deliver projects, which meet the business requirements
Ensure all documentation relating to work/projects is maintained so that accurate information is always available within the department
Prioritising time and workload so that urgent requests, can be focused upon to ensure that business critical tasks are given the priority they require. This may involve frequent changing of planned work in order to remain responsive to the business need.
Ability to join a project midstream and take responsibility for overall delivery
Keeping abreast of business and technological advances within own area of expertise
Collaborate with team members on knowledge transfer, support policies, procedures and documentation standards
