General Responsibilities

This is the key strategic layer within the Yield and Pricing organization, tasked with developing the overall Contribution strategy of the region for which they are responsible, and the key link between the countries, the Yield and Pricing team in Hertz international HQ and other functional areas.

The role: Your journey at Hertz

  • Responsible for achieving or exceeding revenue and market targets/metrics for their geographic region.

  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate the overall Contribution Strategy (Yield and Pricing) for their region of responsibility. Oversee department interaction within the countries to ensure that strategic plans are developed and tactically executed in line with overall division-level objectives.

  • Enhance knowledge of Yield Management and ensure the application of sound and consistent Yield and Pricing Management principles to all levels of decision-making across the entire organization (including Operations, Marketing, Commercial and Travel Industry Sales, International Pricing and Revenue Management and other key functional areas).

  • Lead formal monthly (remotely) and bi-yearly (face-to-face) Yield and Pricing Management reviews for each of the countries of responsibility, encompassing the entirety of their teams, focusing on Yield and Pricing, strategy, systems, processes, and training. Ensure their staffs are holding similar, more frequent reviews.

  • Monitor the performance of the Contribution Management System, Decision Point, RAM, and other key systems; evaluate the forecast, recommend improvements, modifications, and changes to better reflect the business needs. Support development as a key end-user in working with our outside CMS vendor, PROS Revenue Management on these issues.

  • Facilitate training of staff under both their direct and functional control, focusing on not just system functionality, but also an understanding of Contribution Management principles.

  • Monitor usage of the Contribution Management System by all involved in the Contribution Management process to ensure all key processes are being followed and actions implemented in a timely fashion.

  • Closely monitor supply-side actions (Acquisition/Rotation) to ensure proper strategic planning across all horizons.

  • Participate and lead S&OP process from contribution management perspective

  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate KPIs and performance measurements for their region and staffs and, where there are shortcomings, formulate action plans to continuously improve overall performance.

  • Ensure communication protocols are sufficient to keep abreast of competitive actions, business conditions, and opportunities in the marketplace and communicate notable trends to all levels of management, incorporating these trends into Hertz’ strategy as appropriate.

  • Hires, develops, retains and manages productive and effective Managers and Analysts.

We need someone who…..

Educational Background:

  • Four year college degree in Economics/Mathematics/Statistics or similar disciplines

Professional Experience:

  • Experience (ideally 3 to 5 years) in Contribution or Yield Management and revenue/margin optimization strategies & execution in car rental or travel, airline, hotel or other complex and highly competitive international industries

  • Experience managing significant, international, team/teams of people within a complex, demand/supply planning environment across multiple countries

  • Previous experience of working with/to senior management in a diverse and devolved international matrix organization where excellence in communications and persuasion are key success factors in deploying strategy across a wide geographic area.

  • Process innovation and development; management via KPIs

  • Knowledge of revenue optimization and forecasting systems, processes, and strategies.

  • Familiarity with PROS Revenue Management and their systems would be an advantage but not essential for the correct candidate..

  • Excellent computer skills are essential (advanced excel, planning/forecasting tools)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Strong skills in large scale project management
