General Responsibilities

This role can be based anywhere in the UK

Hertz are currently recruiting for a Strategic Business Development Manager targeting “big ticket” new business.

Responsible for the prospecting, implementation and roll out of Blue Chip rental programmes, ensuring that customer needs are met with throughout and all key stakeholders are involved throughout.

The successful candidate will come from a rental background and have extensive knowledge / track record of dealing with multi million Pound contract negotiations.

The Strategic Business Development Manager will also be expected to deliver first class customer service and comprehensive account management throughout, providing customers with a consultative approach throughout the life of the relationship

Revenue Delivery

  • Revenue growth to meet business plan targets

  • Seek and exploit new opportunities across all channels

P rofitability Development

  • Effective management of the portfolio receivable position

  • Produce and action strategic business plans for the accounts

  • Improve customer efficiency and continuously look at ways of driving down their operating costs the Comprehensive MI analysis

New Business Pipeline

  • Win new business in line with agreed parameters

  • Develop and maintain a qualified database of prospective clients

  • Understand the buying cycle of your top prospects

  • /promotions and services to existing customer base

Educational Background:

  • A minimum of 3 years rental experience is essential

  • Proven track record in gaining new business

  • Solid understanding of basic accounting i.e. Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet etc…

Skills:

  • Persuasive communicator, articulate and numerate

  • Positive and enthusiastic and strong ability to motivate and influences others

  • Proficiency in the use of mainstream software (Word, Excel and Power-Point) is assumed

  • Strong negotiator, possessing excellent presentation skills

  • Candidates to be educated at degree level or a similar level of education.

  • Good understanding of business practice’s

  • Strong knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft packages is essential

  • Energetic and self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Tenacious with a “can do, never give up” attitude.
